Privacy Policy

This site is operated by Carlos Giraldo for Philadelphia, the authorized campaign committee of Carlos Giraldo, candidate for Philadelphia City Council, At-Large. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Contributions. Contributions are made on ActBlue, which collects your name, mailing address, email, phone, occupation and employer as campaign finance law requires, and shares them with the campaign.
• Volunteering and events. Name, contact details, neighborhood, availability and what you told us you would like to do.
• Mailing list. Your email address and, optionally, your name and ZIP code.
• Messages. Whatever you write to us through the contact form.
• Chat. If you use the chat on the home page, whatever you type into it, including your name, email or phone number. The chat is run by LeadConnector (HighLevel), which receives and stores that information on our behalf.
• Technical data. IP address, browser user agent and the pages you requested. We keep this to operate the site securely and to detect abuse.

What we never collect

We never see or store your card number. Contributions are made on ActBlue; your card details go straight to ActBlue and never touch this site.

Why we use it

• To process and acknowledge contributions.
• To file the campaign finance reports Pennsylvania and Philadelphia require.
• To organize volunteers and invite you to events.
• To answer your messages.
• To keep the site up and protect it from fraud and abuse.

What is public

Campaign finance reports are public records. Contributions above the reporting threshold are filed with the name, address, occupation and employer of the contributor, and those filings are published by the City and the Commonwealth. We cannot make that private, and asking us not to list you on the site does not change the legal filing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with the service providers that run the campaign's operations (for example ActBlue for contributions and our email provider), with our compliance staff and treasurer, and where the law requires it.

How we protect it

• The entire site is served over encrypted HTTPS.
• Sessions are encrypted and access to the campaign's back office is limited to named staff accounts with individual passwords.
• Every access to donor records by staff is logged.
• Payment card data is out of scope by design: it never reaches our systems.

Your choices

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you — to the extent we are not required by law to retain it — write to [email protected].

Cookies

This site sets one session cookie, which is required for security (it is what protects forms against cross-site request forgery). We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site; it sets its own cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, your browser and your approximate location. It is not used on the pages where campaign staff handle contribution records, and there are no advertising cookies on this site. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Contributions may only be made by people who are legally permitted to make them.
